Long gloves, safe skin: why we work with Unigloves

Gloves are the first thing a tattoo artist puts on – and the last thing clients think about. Ours are long gloves by Unigloves. Here is why.

“Which hygiene standards do you follow?” is one of the questions we hear most. The short answer: sterile single-use materials, regular disinfection of the workstations and gloves – fresh for every session. We work with gloves by Unigloves.

Why long gloves

While tattooing, the forearm often rests right next to the spot being worked on – on the arm, leg or back of the person being tattooed. Short gloves end at the wrist; above that, skin would touch skin.

The Unigloves gloves we use reach much further up the forearm. That way the arm can rest without the artist’s skin touching the client’s skin – and nothing passes between the two.

Quick questions

Do you wear new gloves for every session?
Yes. Gloves are single-use and are put on fresh for every session.
Why long gloves instead of regular ones?
Because the forearm often rests on the skin of the person being tattooed. Long gloves prevent skin-to-skin contact.
