Aleksandr(Sascha)

Aleksandr is a realism tattoo artist at Tattoo Highlights in Hamburg, specialising in highly detailed black & grey and colour realism tattoos. In his work he places particular emphasis on harmonious composition, a natural flow of the motif and a design that adapts perfectly to the anatomy of the body. His goal is to create tattoos that impress not only right after the session but still hold up many years later.

What matters to him is not only the motif itself but its overall effect on the body. Every tattoo is planned individually to achieve a coherent, long-lasting result. Personally, Aleksandr prefers colour tattoos, as colours offer additional ways to create depth, contrast and atmosphere. At the same time he attaches great importance to bold, stable results – in colour as well as in black & grey work.

Drawing has accompanied him since childhood. He gained his first creative experience through graffiti before he began creating realistic pencil portraits on commission. This is where his passion for realism developed, and it remains at the heart of his work to this day.

In 2016, Aleksandr began learning to tattoo alongside his job as a chef. An old-school tattoo artist taught him the basics. Through working in different studios, exchanging ideas with other artists and years of hands-on experience, he continuously developed his own style.

A major turning point in his development was moving to Germany. New professional challenges, international clients and ever higher standards for his own work have shaped him both professionally and personally.

His work has already been published in international tattoo magazines, including Ink Legends Magazine and the trade magazine DGN. He sees these publications as recognition of his development so far and at the same time as motivation to keep improving.

Aleksandr finds inspiration in films, books, music, video games and the work of other artists. He is also creative outside the tattoo world, including oil painting and scale modelling. What excites him most about tattooing is the entire creative process – from the first idea to the finished piece of art and his clients' joy at the result.

For the future, Aleksandr wants to present his work at more international tattoo conventions, gain new experience and exchange ideas with artists from all over the world in order to continuously develop his style.
