A cover-up tattoo is the hardest discipline because you don't start on empty skin. The old motif dictates how dark, how big and how dense the new one has to be — and not every wish works over every old piece. Anyone who promises you everything straight away hasn't looked at the tattoo.
At our tattoo studio in Hamburg we look at your old tattoo first and tell you honestly what's possible: sometimes cover it directly, sometimes lighten it first, sometimes a different motif than planned. Better one uncomfortable conversation than two tattoos that bother you.
We tattoo in Hamburg-Borgfelde, a few minutes from the main station.
Drag the handle to see what became of the old tattoo.

Dark covers light — not the other way round. The new motif has to be stronger than the old one. That's why cover-ups are usually bigger and darker than what lies beneath.
Sometimes lasering is the faster route. A few lightening sessions widen your options enormously. We'll say so when it's worth it for your piece — even though it means we earn later.
Send us a photo. Good light, straight on, nothing glossed over. Then we can tell you what's realistic — before that it's all guesswork.
