Comic

Comic tattoos live off attitude: bold outlines, clear shapes, vivid colours. Nothing should look photographed — it should look drawn, with exaggeration, character and a wink. That's exactly where the difficulty sits: a good comic figure is an interpretation, not a copy.

At our tattoo studio in Hamburg this is Paco's ground. He comes from graffiti, where he's a name, and brings that visual language onto skin — known for custom designs that exist only once. Bring a reference from the internet and you'll usually get something better back.

We tattoo in Hamburg-Borgfelde, a few minutes from the main station.

What you should know about comic tattoos

Custom beats reference. Comic works best when the figure is drawn for you — pose, expression and composition matched to the body part. Bring ideas, but leave room for his signature.

Outlines are why it ages well. Those bold contours hold the motif together for years, even as colours settle. That's why they're not negotiable.

Colour needs surface. A detailed comic motif at matchbox size turns into a blob. Better one figure done right than three done too small.
