Welcome to Alexander Demtschenko — better known as A-Dem. He founded Tattoo Highlights and runs the studio as its owner, together with his wife Natalie. He has been tattooing since 2012 — more than a decade of experience in the tattoo industry. During this time he has made a name for himself, convincing clients and building a loyal following not only across Germany but internationally as well.
At the world-renowned Tattoo Convention in New York he scored a double win, taking first place in the 'Best of Backpiece' category and second place in 'Best Portrait'. These awards were more than deserved — when you look at his work you see not just precision but a genuine passion for detail.
This is exactly why he specialises in photorealism. Portraits of family members, a favourite athlete or large-scale projects as a unique work of art — anyone looking for a professional in this field is in the right hands with him.
Two thirds of my clients travel here — from Bremen, Berlin, Munich and beyond. For large pieces we therefore work two, at most three days in a row, five to six hours each. Two sessions back to back are ideal — I don't recommend more.

New York Tattoo Convention

A special milestone in A-Dem's career was taking part in the Empire State Tattoo Expo in New York. For him it was not only one of the most famous tattoo conventions in the world, but also his very first trip to the USA.
Together with his long-time client and now friend Robin, he travelled to New York to present a back piece he had tattooed on stage. Against international competition and numerous elaborate colour works, his piece prevailed and was awarded 1st place in the category 'Best Back Piece'.
But the evening was not over yet. Just as A-Dem and Robin were about to leave the stage, the jury called them back. Moments later came the next surprise: for another tattoo, A-Dem was additionally awarded 2nd place in the category 'Best Portrait'.
Winning two awards on his very first trip to the United States and his first participation in a US convention remains one of the most defining moments of his career to this day. The experience, the atmosphere of New York and the recognition from an international expert jury confirmed his path and show that his work can hold its own at an international level.
